Swedish description in the Heraldica record SV

The text below is the Swedish description in the Heraldica record. Whether its wording is an official blazon has not been independently verified. The editorial text keeps the heraldic description distinct from the municipality’s explanation of colour symbolism.

I blått fält två genom vågskuror bildade bjälkar av silver.

The design and adoption of the arms

Harstad Municipality describes the arms as two wavy silver bars on a blue field and also notes a crown with three towers. It says the arms were confirmed in their present form by Royal Resolution on 24 April 1953.
