Background in local sources
Ale Municipality’s 2024 graphic guideline says its logo consists of the coloured shield and the word ALE above it. The guideline treats the arms as part of the municipality’s shared visual signature but does not explain the symbolism of the leaf or the wavy lines.
Heraldic elements
The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
