Background in the municipal sources
Bollebygd Municipality says the vessel is based on the oldest known seal image of Bollebygd Hundred. The yellow and black colours were taken from the arms of Västergötland. The municipal council adopted the proposal in October 1955, and it received royal confirmation that December.
Heraldic elements
The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
