Background in local sources

Falkenberg Municipality’s guideline says the arms were registered with the Swedish Patent and Registration Office on 1 October 1973. It distinguishes the arms from the municipal logo, which adds the name “Falkenbergs kommun” to the heraldic symbol. The guideline also describes the formal and special contexts in which the arms are used.

Heraldic elements

The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
