Swedish description in the Heraldica record

Sköld genom en vågskura styckad i grön och guld, i första fältet ett bomärke av guld, i andra fältet en grön lagerkvist med utväxande tre gröna lagerblad (allusion: Adliga ättens von Lagerlöf vapen).

This is the Swedish description in the Heraldica record. How it was composed and whether it is an official blazon have not been independently verified here. The editorial text distinguishes registry information from the municipal source.

The arms and their description

The Heraldica record describes a shield divided by a wavy line into green and gold. The first field contains a gold house mark; the second contains a laurel branch with three leaves.

Background in the municipal sources

Forshaga Municipality says the wavy line in the shield symbolises the River Klarälven. The Heraldica record also notes an allusion between the laurel branch and the arms of the von Lagerlöf noble family; this is not presented as a municipal interpretation.
