Swedish description in the Heraldica record

I fält av silver en genom karvskura bildad blå bjälke belagd med en svävande sträng bjälkvis av guld.

This is the Swedish description in the Heraldica record. How it was composed and whether it is an official blazon have not been independently verified here. The editorial text distinguishes registry information from municipal or local interpretations.

The arms and their description

The Swedish description in the Heraldica record specifies a blue engrailed fess on a silver field, charged with a gold log. This restates the registry description; the municipality’s graphic manual does not confirm the coat-of-arms blazon.

Background in local sources

Hammarö’s graphic manual concerns the municipality’s current logo and colour palette. It says the main colour was inspired by Lake Vänern and other colours by features such as reeds, lupins and cliffs. The manual describes brand colours and the logo symbol, so these should not be treated as a historical interpretation of the arms.

Heraldic elements

The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
