Coat of arms of Haparanda
Haparanda’s arms show a floating blue triple mount above a green triple mount. Two aspens grow from the green mount; between them is a rising gold boundary marker, crowned with a cross and bearing a blue miniature shield with three gold crowns. A gold sun appears above.

The arms and their description
The Swedish description in the Heraldica record lists a floating blue triple mount on a silver field and a green triple mount with two aspens growing from it. Between them is a rising gold boundary marker, topped by a cross and bearing a blue miniature shield charged with three gold crowns; a gold sun is above. This reports the registry text without interpreting the marker’s meaning.

Background in local sources
Haparanda City’s press and communications page says the municipal arms form part of the city’s official logo, which is to be used when the city is the sender. The page provides original files but does not explain the symbolism of individual motifs or the boundary marker.
Heraldic elements
The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
