Background in local sources
Höganäs Municipality’s graphic profile says the central settlement became a town in 1936 and its arms were confirmed the following year. The profile connects the anchor with older map marks for the fishing village and says the torches represent local mining. The municipality’s current logo is a graphic adaptation of the arms.
