Justice and crossing roads
Hörby Municipality’s manual calls the arms “Vågen och vägskälet” (“The Scales and the Crossroads”). It says they were created for Hörby market town in 1949 and later adopted by the enlarged municipality. According to the municipality, the scales symbolise justice and recall Hörby’s role as the Frosta district court site since the seventeenth century. The saltire refers to important roads crossing there and their significance for the locality’s development.
Heraldic elements
The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
