The history of the municipal arms
Järfälla Municipality says the arms have been used since 1955 and took their present form in April 1977. The motif comes from the seal of Sollentuna Hundred, known from the 1560s when Järfälla belonged to the district. Järfälla adopted the older district symbol after Sollentuna Municipality chose a different one.
Heraldic elements
The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
