The arms’ design

The municipality’s page gives the blazon and explains the motifs: the pall cross refers to the meeting of railway lines, the hammer to industry, the caduceus to trade and the rose to the garden city.

Background and the source’s interpretation

Katrineholm became a city in 1917 and its arms were established in 1918. The municipality says the city arms were also chosen for the new municipality in 1971; the mural crown was first removed and then restored in a modernised form in 1988.
