Swedish description in the Heraldica record

I rött fält en bård av silver, ett ankar- korsat kors av silver.

This is the Swedish description in the Heraldica record. Its more specific wording about the cross is unclear, so the motif is described simply as a cross. Kinda Municipality’s source confirms the cross’s connection to the district seal.

Motifs and description

The Heraldica record describes a red field with a silver border and a silver cross. Its more detailed wording about the cross’s form is broken and unclear, so it is not completed by guesswork.

The municipality’s historical account

Kinda Municipality says the arms derive from those of Kinda Hundred and were established in 1950. The municipality traces the cross to the district seal, known from 1568. A silver border was added to distinguish the municipal arms from the district arms because their territories did not have the same boundaries.
