Coat of arms of Kristianstad
Kristianstad’s arms show two gold lions holding a crowned C4 monogram on a blue field.
Swedish description in the Heraldica record
I blått fält två uppresta motvända lejon av guld hållande mellan tassarna ett monogram av guld (C 4) krönt.
The Swedish description in the Heraldica record is kept separate from the blazon published by the municipality. Kristianstad’s municipal page confirms the main elements.

The municipality’s blazon
Kristianstad Municipality describes two affronted, rampant gold lions on a blue field. Between their paws they hold a crowned C4 monogram, also in gold.
C4 and Christian IV
The municipality’s townscape programme identifies C4 as the monogram of King Christian IV, who founded the city, and as an established city symbol. The explanation concerns the monogram; the source gives no separate meaning for the arms’ other elements.
Heraldic elements
The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
