Swedish description in the Heraldica record

I fält av silver två genom vågskuror bildade sänkta blå nedvända sparrar varöver en röd älg eller en hällristning.

The Swedish description in the Heraldica record leaves the red figure open to interpretation: it may be an elk or a rock carving. The ambiguity is not resolved by interpreting the artwork.

An unresolved reading in the record

The Heraldica record describes two inverted blue chevrons with wavy edges on a silver field, with a red elk or rock carving above them. The record does not choose between these readings.

Rock carvings in Krokom Municipality

Krokom Municipality’s magazine features a large elk rock carving at Gärde in Offerdal. The article does not connect it to the red figure in the arms, so the figure’s meaning is left open here.
