From medieval arms to the current emblem

The municipality says the arms of Lödöse date back to the 13th century. In 1956, the Lödöse municipal council adopted them as its own arms with minor changes. After the 1971 municipal merger, the former Lödöse arms were retained. City heralds presented the current simplified and stylised version in 1976.

Heraldic elements

The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
