The municipality’s account of the current arms

Mölndal City says today’s arms are a modern version of its old city arms. The city explains that the wave symbolizes Mölndalsån, while the rapids and millwheel symbolize milling. Its page does not publish a complete blazon, so other charges or colours are not specified here.

The arms and city logo in context

Mölndal City’s logo consists of the city arms and the words “Mölndals stad”. The city says its old arms were established in 1924, two years after Mölndal became a city. A new coat of arms was decided on 19 October 2016, distinguishing today’s modern design from the older arms.
