The arms and their blazon

Nacka’s material says Eric Ericsson’s proposal won a design competition in 1947 and included both a waterwheel and a cogwheel. The later version shows only the waterwheel.

Background in the municipal sources

The municipality links the wheel with the old mills at Nacka Stream. The later coat of arms is distinguished from the original competition proposal.
