A spruce branch divides the shield

A line shaped like a spruce branch divides the shield: three green rings appear in the silver field and an upright silver hammer in the green field. The archive record’s computer-generated heraldic description lists these features but assigns no separate symbolic meaning to the rings or hammer.

Colours, forest and steel

The arms were registered in 1985. Ockelbo Municipality’s graphic profile connects the green and steel-grey palette of its municipal arms with local history, forests and steel. It does not explain the rings or hammer individually.

Heraldic elements

The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
