The arms and their blazon

The municipality says the arms form part of its logo and have been used since the municipal merger in 1974. Its page does not specify every motif’s exact colour or placement.

Background in the municipal sources

The municipality says the ship was already present in Öregrund’s town arms in 1948 and that the iron marks refer to ironworking in Dannemora. We do not extend this interpretation to individual marks.

The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
