The arms’ design
The municipality’s blazon describes a gold field with a blue inward-curving mantle division, a gold sheaf and two blue goose heads with red beaks.
Background and the source’s interpretation
The municipality says the arms draw on the seals of the Gäsene and Kullings districts and express agriculture and animal husbandry. The Swedish Municipal Heraldic Institute designed the arms; they were established in 1953 and later adopted by Vårgårda Municipality.
Heraldic elements
The heraldic elements are identified using HERO, a heraldry ontology published through Finland's Finto service. It provides structured terminology for describing coats of arms and their components. The list describes the structure of the arms, not the symbolic meaning of its elements.
